REALTORS® CODE OF ETHICS
The REALTOR® Code of Ethics is a vital framework that governs the professional conduct of real estate practitioners who are members of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Established over a century ago, this code sets the highest standards for ethical behavior in the real estate industry, ensuring that REALTORS® act with integrity, honesty, and fairness in all their transactions. It covers key areas such as the duties REALTORS® owe to their clients, the public, and other real estate professionals. By adhering to the Code of Ethics, REALTORS® commit to putting the interests of their clients first, maintaining transparency in their practices, and upholding the reputation of the profession. REQUIREMENT:
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, and 30 minutes of instructional time. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
Training may be completed through NAR’s online courses or another method, such as online or classroom courses via local/state associations.
